Applications for the 2023 SRP are officially now closed. If you would like to participate in the 2025, please send us a letter or email (ryu.zen18@gmail.com) describing your experience in the practice of shakuhachi and reason for coming.

Due to the physically demanding aspect of this trip, it is a MUST that you be in excellent physical and mental shape. The group will be spending LOTS of time together so it is imperative that you feel comfortable in a group situation. I will be screening potential applicants to determine if one is suitable for this trip. If not, I must decline the applicant. 

There is LOTS of walking and at times hiking, so please be warned. The overall hiking level of this journey is moderate to difficult. 

The maximum number of participants for this trip is 7.  A non-refundable down payment of US$500 is required to be accepted on the SRP. We are now accepting applications for 2019. It is recommended that you pay this fee sooner to reserve your spot on the trip, as it tends to fill up quickly.
